Before speaking about tumours of the male breast it is very much necessary to mention what breast cancer is actually. Breast cancer is a disease that occurs due to growth of different kinds of tumours from the broken cancer cells. One cancerous or malignant tumour grows inside the breast and from that other cancer cells or tumours grow and getting detached from the source tumour they flow through the blood and lymphatic vessels and spread to all other parts of the body. Gradually these tumours grow in sizes, gets metastasize and spread malignancy that leads to the death of the patient. Breast cancer, both in the breast of women and men occur due to the growth of fibroepithelial tumours. Fibroepithelial tumours are of different kinds but among all fibroadenoma and phyllodes are the two most deadly tumours of the male breast and the female breast. Both fibroadenoma and phyllodes tumours are benign tumours that grow in some particular parts of the breast. Both fibroadenoma and phyllodes tumours are malignant tumours from where cancer cells get spilled and mainly flow to the lungs through lymphatic and blood vessels. That is why in case of breast cancer for both men and women, the breast get affected.
Speaking about tumours of the male breast, we need to mention about the characteristics of both fibradenoma and phyllodes tumours. Generally fibroadenoma grow in the aroela portion of the breast and has a tendency to move among adjacent structures like skin, muscles and the lymph. Fibroadenoma are small sized tumours and are rarely found in behind the nipples. On the other hand phyllodes tumours are large sized tumours and grow just behind the nipple. It is more malignant among the two and metastasize very quickly.
However apart from these other tumours of the male breast include syringomatous adenoma, nipple adenoma and paget's disease of the nipple are also major reasons for breast cancer in males. Both syringomatous adenoma and nipple adenoma are malignant tumours that encourage fast spreading of the disease in both male and female breast. On the other hand, Paget's disease is a clear symptom of breast cancer in male. The color of skin of the breast and nipple changes to red, eczema-type infection leads to itching and gradually the nipple turns downward and repeated rubbing leads to discharge of blood and fluid from the duct.
